Scott Brown: We knew if we turned up, we'd win the game

Celtic have beaten their biggest rivals to book their place in the final of the Scottish Cup.

They saw off Rangers 2-0 at Hampden Park, which sets up a clash with Aberdeen - at the same venue - next month.

Goals from Callum McGregor and Scott Sinclair either side of half time saw Brendan Rodgers' side continue their search for a domestic treble.

Captain Scott Brown told Sky Sports, it was a well earned victory.

"I thought it was a very professional performance," he said. "We knew if we turned up, we'd win the game.

"We did that on the day. In the first half we kept the ball and they created no chances and we could have scored two or three.

"The fans and the players gave everything today. We deserve to be in the final."

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha said after Sunday's game that he'd hoped they could have caused their opponents more problems - especially after conceding a penalty early in the second half.

"At 2-0, you know that if you score you can get back into the game," he told Sky Sports. "We couldn't and they deserved to win the game."

After securing a sixth successive Scottish Premiership title at the start of the month, Rodgers' side continue to dominate on all fronts.

They defeated Aberdeen in the final of the League Cup last November and now meet them again in the Scottish Cup final on May 27.
