A day of first halves to forget ended with a flurry of goals as Liverpool climbed to second after beating Swansea, and Chelsea got back on track with an away win at Hull.
At the other end of the table we saw Dimitri Payet score a contender for the Goal of the Season as West Ham drew at home to Middlesbrough, but as always, we know you don't have time to hear about everything, so here are the day's biggest talking points
Chelsea back to winning ways
After putting three successive wins together when the season kicked-off, we fancied Chelsea to be a title threat again this season. A run of poor results seemed to have put that idea to the sword, but they found finally found some form again today.
It's too early to judge any team in the league, but a 2-0 win away at Hull and a solid defensive performance will put the talk of a mini-crisis to bed just in time for the international break.
For our Fantasy players out there, it's worth noting Diego Costa looked back to his best, notching a goal and an assist. A different player from the one who was put firmly in Koscielny's pocket at the Emirates last week, we'll have him back in our side next time around.
Dimitri Payet's wonder goal
Take a bow, son.
Another one for Payet's highlight reel. It's worth staying in tonight for this goal alone, it's surely the pick of the month already, a joy to watch. He took the ball out left flank with his back to goal, beating his man before going around another four, then comfortably rolled it past Valdes. Horrible defending, but how he's still playing for West Ham we'll never know.
That's three assists and a goal in his four Premier League starts this year, and if the Hammers are going to pull themselves out of this slump it looks like it'll be down to this man.
Liverpool up to second
Complain all you like about us saying it's too early to judge teams, we're going to keep it up until after week 10 regardless.
Having said that, Liverpool put another win on the board today as they came from behind to defeat Swansea 2-1, and while we're not dropping the challengers title just yet, it's impressive to see them grinding out results like they at the Liberty this afternoon when things weren't going their way.
They're up to second now, deservedly so, and failing a Spurs upset tomorrow against City they'll be staying there for the international break.
Sunderland leave it late
If ever a team needed a result, it was Sunderland today. Bottom of the league, no wins from six games, and playing at home to another at the wrong end of the table, they needed a performance.
They got the last part, but unfortunately that was mainly through the in-form Jordan Pickford between the sticks. Having gone behind to a Nacer Chadli strike, Patrick van Aanholt gave rescued the Black Cats a point with an 83rd minute equaliser. Nothing about this side looks like a David Moyes team, they're simply giving up far too many chances.
If there's a silver lining to be drawn from this it'll come in the form on the point earned. They've stopped the rot of three successive Premier League losses and can go back to the drawing board before their next day out at the Britannia as they take on Stoke in the definition of a must-win game.
Jack Wils-where?
Another start for the on-loan Arsenal man before again being substituted with 15 minutes remaining in Bournemouth's 2-2 draw with Watford. It looks like Eddie Howe is managing his game time well so as to avoid another injury, but Wilshere isn't setting the world alight just yet and he's being outshone by Irish international Harry Arter.
While Wilshere got involved more today than in previous weeks, he hasn't quite found his level or fitness. Although he struck the woodwork twice, the second time around was almost an open goal and could have given Bournemouth the three points. Substituted just two minutes afterwards, that miss will be playing on repeat in his mind over the international break.
