Wayne Rooney says he doesn't want to leave Manchester United but has not definitively stated that he will definitely stay at the club beyond this season.
The England international has started just 12 Premier League games all season after slipping back down the pecking order due to injury and form.
He has been linked with a big money move to China, while there has also been talk regarding a potential return to boyhood club Everton if he is to remain in the Premier League.
But the United skipper says he wants to fight for his place at Old Trafford.
"Would I like to stay? I've been at this club for 13 years. Of course, I want to play football," he said at a press conference ahead of Thursday night's Europa League semi final second leg clash against Celta Vigo.
The England all time record goalscorer went on to add: "This season I haven’t played as much as I would have liked to. I’ve tried to help the team on the pitch and off the pitch. I haven’t thrown my toys out of the pram but I’m a football player and I want to play football. The more I play, the better, and the more I feel I can help the team."
