Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly pushing for Manchester United to make a €130 million transfer for his former Juventus teammate, Federico Chiesa.
The 23-year-old Chiesa played alongside Ronaldo at Juventus for a single season, while the Italian is on loan from Fiorentina.
As reported by the Irish Mirror, taken from an interview on Calciomercato with Ivan Reggiani, Ronaldo hopes to reunite with his former teammate after Chiesa's two-year loan deal with the Turin side comes to an end.
Chiesa and Ronaldo had formed a strong partnership over their year together at Juventus, with the pair combining on several occasions to score throughout the season.
Most notably, the duo showcased their partnership in Juventus' 2-1 Serie A victory over Napoli in April, when the Italian joined the 36-year-old in performing his trademark celebration after they combined for the opening goal.
This was just one of the 10 assists that Chiesa racked up in the league last season, in addition to his stellar performance for the eventual Euro 2020 winners.
Chiesa scored two goals en route to helping Italy lift the Euro trophy, including the opener against Spain in their semi-final.
According to Reggiani on Calciomercato, there are at least two or three clubs in England that would be interested in fronting up the reported €130 million ahead of next season.
Should any transfers not go through, however, Chiesa is expected to sign on full time for Juventus for €40 million, after making seven appearances for the side over the last season.
