Report: Fears over Alexis Sanchez future at Arsenal set to intensify

The future of Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal has once again been cast into doubt, following reports that Bayern Munich are prepared to make a lucrative offer for the Chilean.

The Telegraph reports that the German side are willing to table an offer to the tune of £55 million (€65 million) for the Premier League player.

Arsenal is in a state of turmoil this season. The fans are divided over whether manager Arsene Wenger should continue in his role, and incidents of dressing room unrest are frequently emerging in reports.

A dreadful run of results has left them in sixth place on the table with five games remaining.

Doubts about Sanchez's future at the London based club flared up earlier in the season, when he was benched for allegedly disciplinary reasons. Wenger insisted the decision was taken for tactical reasons, but relations were said to be poor between the two.

Sanchez is coming into the final season of his contract with Arsenal, and negotiations about a possible renewal have been placed on hold until the summer.

It's believed that he wants in excess of £300,000 a week to keep him at the club, although Wenger told reporters that he was reluctant to break the club's wage structure to fulfil Sanchez's needs.

Defeat to Spurs last weekend confirmed that Arsenal will finish below their city rivals for the first time in two decades, and their chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League are slim.

They face Man United in a critical fixture later today.
