Given to the best player in Europe, under the age of 21, Sanches defeated players like Marcus Rashford, Kingsley Coman, Dele Alli and Gianluigi Donnarumma to the award.
Previous winners include Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi and Paul Pogba. Anthony Martial was the winner of the 2015 award.
The Portuguese midfielder was linked to joining Manchester United, before he moved to Germany. So far this season, he has played 11 times for Bayern Munich and twice for Portugal.
At €35million, Sanches may prove to be an astute investment from Bayern. A promising future awaits the 19-year-old.
