In the days before the Champions League expanded to include numerous non-champions, the old UEFA Cup (now Europa League) was relatively prestigious.
Of course, it was no European Cup in the roll call, but a Cup Winners Cup and UEFA Cup was still a good thing to have in the cabinet.
That's not to say that the Europa League is completely devoid of interest. But for Premier League clubs, a sense of urgency to win does not seem to really build until the semi-final stage.
Spanish clubs have tended to dominate the Europa League/UEFA Cup since the turn of the Millennium, while Italy ruled much of the late 1980s and early '90s.
Babbel and Liverpool
In between, three English clubs have tasted victory along with a couple of German victories and a few more from less illustrious leagues.
This week, the tournament was on the brain here. Firstly, it's a European week and secondly, Markus Babbel was on Team 33.
The former Liverpool defender was pivotal as Liverpool won the 2001 UEFA Cup. And it followed 2000 when Arsenal came close, only to lose on penalties.
So this week on our OTB Quiz, we're testing your knowledge and memory. Can you name the clubs that have won the last 30 UEFA Cup/Europa League finals?
Given that a few clubs have won the tournament multiple times, it makes this quiz a little bit easier.
