Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba says he is not worried about criticism of his scoring record this season.
The former Juventus player re-joined Man United for a world record fee last summer, but the new signing has managed just seven club goals this campaign ahead of their Europa League quarter-final with Anderlecht tomorrow.
But the France international says that is an unfair way to judge him given the fact that he is not a forward.
"What I'm doing, I'm doing a job. I'm a midfield player. People think sometimes I'm an attacking player," he said.
"When I do some assists to people and we don't score, it can happen."
Pogba has also regularly hit the woodwork this season. He has hit either the crossbar or post nine times in the Premier League this season, which is the joint-highest along with Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne.
He has managed seven goals in all competitions this season, with four goals coming in the Premier League.
The 24 year old has also provided four assists overall in the Premier League and Europa League this season.
His highest goal rate in the league in past seasons has been eight each in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 Serie A campaigns for Juventus.
Meanwhile, club captain Wayne Rooney has not travelled with Manchester United to Belgium for their Europa League quarter final first leg with Anderlecht.
He has been left out of the matchday squad for their last two games because of an ankle injury.
Manager Jose Mourinho says it is still a problem.
"He is not happy with his condition. He’s trying to work, which he does, but he’s not confident, he’s not happy," he said.
"He has bad feelings with his ankle and he’s not ready to play. Let’s see for the weekend, let’s see for next week. We don’t have many players and need everyone to try to be available. For tomorrow, no."
