WATCH: Departing players get emotional farewell from their clubs

On the final day of the 2020/2021 Premier League season, clubs and fans have been saying farewell to their departing players with touching tributes.

With many players leaving their clubs at the end of the season, the final day of the Premier League is usually filled with emotion for those that have been with their club for a long time.

One such player is Sergio Aguero, who has been with this year's champions Manchester City since 2011, and is leaving the club after breaking the record for the most goals scored for a single Premier League team in his final match for City.

Before the match, City paid tribute the Argentine international that has been with them for a decade with a guard of honour.

Aguero scored his record-breaking 260th goal for Manchester City in their winning effort against Everton, before saying an emotional goodbye to his teammates and the 10,000 fans that were able to attend.

Elsewhere across the final day of the league, the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum was celebrated as he too played his final match for his Premier League club on Sunday.

Wijnaldum's future is uncertain, but his Liverpool teammates presented him with a memorial of his accomplishments at Anfield over the past five years in a special farewell.

In addition to those that are leaving their clubs for certain, there have been a number of rumours at the tail end of the season that many other players will have played their final game for their current club on Sunday.

None have been more highly-speculated than that of Harry Kane, who is has been increasingly linked to a move away from Tottenham at the end of the current season.

While it has not yet been confirmed, the reaction from Kane and his teammates Dele Alli and Son Heung-min after the final whistle would suggest that he will not be playing alongside them next season.
