Tonight's Europa League clash between AS Roma and Feyenoord in Rotterdam was marred as fans of the Dutch club threw an inflatable banana onto the pitch towards Gervinho.
The Roma winger, who scored during the match for the Italian club, was also reportedly the subject of racist chanting.
Play was suspended briefly.
Last week's first leg in Rome had seen fans of the Dutch club involved in violent scenes in the Italian capital.
