'This is a human behaviour that's not tolerated at all'

Chelsea should ban any supporters involved in the  according to Paul Canoville, the Blues' first black player.

The 52-year-old former winger was speaking to Off The Ball tonight after the club suspended three people from Stamford Bridge.

"For me, they should be banned, simple as that. This is a human behaviour that's not tolerated at all. It's not just in sport, it's in life," he said.

Canoville also shared some of the experience of racist abuse from his playing days.

"It was self-confidence [that was affected]. It was having this racist chant every time, home games and away games and not knowing what to expect, being a bit scared. For me as a young boy, when I went to the games, I used to wear caps because I didn't want to be recognised. Returning after the game, wanting to leave from the ground, it used to take me about three hours so things settled down before I could go home. But it has changed," said Canoville, who feels the incident now overshadows what the club has been achieving this season.
