Former Shamrock Rovers manager Pat Fenlon believes a 1-0 defeat to BATE Borisov is not a bad result for Dundalk.
The League of Ireland champions put in a backs-to-the-wall performance to leave Belarus with a narrow defeat in the Champions League third qualifying round first leg.
And Fenlon feels it's a good result in the circumstances, especially against a team that regularly reaches the Champions League group stages.
"It would be a good result for them because they've had to work really hard to get anything out of this game," he said on Off The Ball.
Ex-Shelbourne midfielder Stuart Byrne was also on the show and he saw plenty of positives for manager Stephen Kenny and his team.
"I've been quite impressed with Dundalk. I agree with Pat. They've been put under tremendous pressure and I think the two substitutions at half-time probably eluded to that, bringing on Shields and Mountney," he said, agreeing that a 1-0 defeat is a good result.
Fenlon and Stuey also looked ahead to Cork City's Europa League clash against Genk of Belgium.
