Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed that he'll be without his new signings Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell for their Premier League opener with Brighton on Monday.
"Hakim Zayech got a knock in the friendly at Brighton and hopefully it will be a couple of weeks, we'll have to see," the Blues boss said ahead of the start of the new campaign.
"Ben Chilwell is working towards fitness and he won't be fit for Brighton. He has improved this week and is going in the right direction.
"Thiago Silva is now in London but not training with us until the weekend so I doubt very much if he'll be involved at Brighton."
Though Lampard is hopeful that winger Christian Pulisic and captain Cesar Azpilicueta will be fit to play on Monday evening.
"Both trained since yesterday and both are in contention. They look to be over injuries and I just have to make sure I manage them carefully."
Chelsea have spend over £200-million on players this summer but Lampard has warned that it'll take time for them to settle.
"We should be excited but also have a word of caution that we need to work with the new players and my job is to get them settled and get the team working as well as possible.
"Other people can talk about whether we challenge or not. We have finished a lot of points behind in the last two seasons so we have to first look at closing the gap and building confidence. I'm not jumping ahead. Expectations will always be there and I thrive on them. I came here to try and win."
