Tottenham's Champions League campaign has been nothing short of a failure this season.
The north London side were eliminated on Tuesday night, after their 2-1 loss to Monaco in Monte Carlo. Mauricio Pochettino's side still have one game to play in their group. Spurs welcome CSKA Moscow to Wembley in a fortnight.
Due to redevelopments taking place in and around White Hart Lane, Tottenham have played their Champions League games in England's national stadium this year. In their two home games so far, the team have lost to both Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen.
If Tottenham do not lose to CSKA next month, the team will advance to the last-32 of the Europa League, and one player has called on the side to end their Wembley experiment.
Midfielder Moussa Sissoko wants the team to return to White Hart Lane, and play on front of their home fans, in familiar surroundings.
"I think it would be good for us to play at home in the Europa League, and by home, I mean White Hart Lane... Going home would make it easier for us. We know the stadium and it would be better for us."
The stadium currently holds 36,000, well short of Wembley's 90,000 capacity, but could create a better atmosphere for Pochettino's side.
Last season, Spurs were knocked out in the Round of 16 of the Europa League to Borussia Dortmund. The team have won the competition on two separate occasions in the 1970s and 80s.
