Mikel Arteta has confirmed he will retire from football and take up a role in Manchester City's coaching staff under Pep Guardiola.
The official unveiling of Pep Guardiola takes place today at the Etihad and the news comes as the future of the club under Guardiola starts to take shape.
The former Everton and Arsenal midfielder is highly respected within the game and has plenty of admirers who tried to coax him into coaching including Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur.
He thanked the many clubs he got to play for during his playing career including Real Sociedad, PSG, Everton and Arsenal.
