Brian Kerr believes that Manchester United's Mason Greenwood is 'the real deal' after his performance against Bournemouth brought him to 15 goals this season.
All of the noises from United's Carrington complex have been positive about Greenwood's development for some years now, and Kerr believes that his finishing and maturity separate him from other players.
"You have to be impressed with what he has done in recent weeks. They were using him in the early rounds of the Europa League and he was scoring some goals," said Kerr.
"He scored a lot of very clever goals at the near post, beating the 'keeper with his right foot. He looked like a lad with potential.
"Of all the young players they were using in the Europa League, he was the one that I thought was ready to step up."
Mason Greenwood: the next superstar?
So what is it about Mason Greenwood that sets him apart from others in his age group?
"When he has come on, he looks like he has the physicality about him, with his pace and maturity. But most of all, he seems to have the ability to score on either foot.
"He doesn't seem to get ruffled when he has too much time, and when he doesn't have too much time he adjusts his feet and body quick enough to get the shot away before the defenders adjust.
"That is what we saw yesterday when he was being forced away to the sideline - a brilliant goal.
"People are right to be enthused about him. I don't think that people are going too mad at the moment, but he looks like he is going to be a real player.
"It is not easy to break through at a club like Manchester United, who are able to buy at the top of the market - but he is one, along with Rashford, who looks like the real deal."
