Mark Travers marked his Premier League debut with a 'Man of the Match' display and a clean sheet as Bournemouth beat Tottenham 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium.
The result put a huge dent in Tottenham's top four ambitions with the race for Champions League qualification set to go down to wire.
Spurs started brightly and forced the Irish youngster into a number of reflex saves and the tie arguably turned on the red card dished out to Heung-Min Son just before half-time.
Juan Foyth joined Son shortly after the break after a wild lunge at Jack Simpson. Tottenham looked to have held out for a valuable point only for Nathan Ake to head home from a corner in injury time.
Spurs remain in third place on 70 points but Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United all play on Sunday and could take the race for Champions League qualification to the final day of the season if they all win.
Speaking after the match to Premier League Live's Peter Hood, Travers said: "It was an unbelievable day for me - playing against a side of Tottenham's calibre.
"It was a great experience and even live on Sky to add to the pressure but it was a great day all round. I was delighted it went well and we got the three points.
"Only yesterday morning, the gaffer pulled me in just to let me know that I was starting and it gave me the chance to get my family over. My parents came today so that was great but since then I've just been dying to get out on the pitch and I'm buzzing it went well.
"There were a few nerves as that shot sailed over my head but thankfully it went wide and I was able to kick on from there," he added.
