Various reports have stated that Oxford United midfielder Mark Sykes plans to switch his allegiance from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland.
The 23-year-old was previously included in Northern Ireland squads by former manager Michael O'Neill, but he did not make his senior debut.
The former Glenavon player earned his first Northern Ireland call-up in May 2019 and was recalled for games against Luxembourg and Germany in September.
Sykes was also named in Northern Ireland's squad for the Euro 2020 qualifying play-off semi-final against Bosnia-Herzegovina when it was named by O'Neill in March, although that fixture was later postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sykes joined the League One side in January 2019 and helped them reach last season's play-off final, scoring in the 2-1 defeat to Wycombe at Wembley last month.
The midfielder featured in 39 games for Karl Robinson's side last season, scoring three times in total.
On Monday, Baraclough is set to name the Northern Ireland squad for his first games in charge - away to Romania and at home to Norway in the Nations League next month.
Stephen Kenny will also name his Republic of Ireland boss squad for the games against Bulgaria and Finland on Monday too.
