Autopsy of Diego Maradona reveals no alcohol or narcotics consumption

The autopsy of  Diego Maradona has cleared signs of outside wrongdoing at the time of his death.

Diego Maradona's autopsy was released today, and it did not contain any signs of the consumption of alcohol or narcotics.

The 60-year-old tragically died last month of a heart attack.

The investigation was raised in order to see if there was any negligence in the healthcare Maradona was provided.

Instead, it showed problems with his kidneys, his heart, and his lungs.

Recent health woes

The 1986 World Cup winner had a successful operation on a brain blood clot earlier in November.

He was taken into hospital then for treatment in relation to alcohol dependency.

A first autopsy found Maradona had died from "acute pulmonary edema secondary to exacerbated chronic heart failure with dilated cardiomyopathy".

Napoli's San Paolo Stadium has been renamed in memory as the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

The news stunned the world of football, as masses of tributes flooded in for the Argentinian legend.
