Graeme Souness and Keith Andrews believe that Manchester City can win the Champions League this year.

Speaking on Virgin Media Sport's coverage of the Champions League this evening, the pair were in agreement that the Citizens have everything it takes to go all the way this year.

"With due respect to Manchester City, their European pedigree is a recent thing. It is all about recent history.

"They are a special team and I don't get it - well, I do get it and I don't get it - when he is asked if they can win it and he says 'we are not ready.' They are ready. They just need a bit of luck. They are a really good team."

Former Ireland international midfielder Keith Andrews agreed with Souness, and looked ahead to the rest of the season to City's sky-high limits.

"They are going to coast through the group - that is not going to be a problem.

"By the time that it gets to the nitty-gritty, they will have Laporte back. They will have a January transfer window, and the funds to strengthen if they need to.

"The question at the moment is can they challenge domestically when they are in such a position defensively."

It remains to be seen, but the pair believe that City will be there or thereabouts in May.
