Sources at Manchester United claim that David De Gea has not asked to leave the club, amidst speculation that Real Madrid are keen to sign the Spanish goalkeeper.
The Spanish newspaper Marca has claimed that De Gea has asked to be sold from United. The report also states that Real Madrid 'are determined to sign David De Gea this summer.'
Sources at the Premier League club however, have refuted those claims, telling The Telegraph that De Gea has no desire to leave the club.
The Spanish Giants previously tried to acquire De Gea in 2015, but the agreed £29 million deal fell through at the last minute. It was reported at the time that Real Madrid did not complete the relevant paperwork before the Spanish transfer window closed.
De Gea was recently named in the PFA Team of the year, and considering United's mounting injury crisis, they need to retain the services of their best players.
Star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering cruciate ligament damage, while defender Marcos Rojo is also out with the same injury.
Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are among the others who are out with injury, while Marouane Fellaini is serving a suspension after he was sent off during the week.
United face Swansea tomorrow in the Premier League.
