Louis looking up as United's big names get ready to return

Louis van Gaal is satisfied with Manchester United’s 36 Premier League points so far this season, and reckons his side will raise their game in the New Year when key players return from injury.

Adnan Januzaj, Angel Di Maria, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Marcos Rojo and long-term injury victim Daley Blind have been absent from the United first-team in recent weeks but, with the expectation of the latter, all are expected to return early in the New Year.

Van Gaal says their reintegration will make a huge difference. “We can improve more when all the players are available,” the Dutchman asserted.

United face Stoke at the Britannia Stadium in tomorrow’s early kick-off (12.45) and Van Gaal has called on his men to continue their fine recent form.

“When I say that we are improving, we have to show that against Stoke City,” he added.

The Old Trafford boss also discussed his admiration for life in England since his arrival last summer and, crucially, revealed his favourite food, and restaurant in Manchester.
