Kevin Kilbane picks out the pros and cons from Ireland's draw in Serbia

Kevin Kilbane had a first-hand view tonight in Belgrade as Ireland hung on for a 2-2 draw against Serbia.

After the match, the Off The Ball co-presenter and former Ireland international picked out the pros and cons from the performance.

In the circumstances, he feels it's a good point for Ireland.

"That's a great point. I think if you look at the likes of Matic and Kolarov to come back into the [Serbia] side, [that] will make them a lot stronger. This sort of side playing here tonight, I think a lot of the other nations - certainly the top nations - you would think Austria and Wales would come here and beat them playing like this tonight. I think they would provide much more of a threat going forward so that was the disappointing thing to take for the game," he said, adding that once Ireland went in front, they could have been more proactive on the ball rather than dropping too deep.

On the more positive side from an Irish perspective, Kilbane was impressed that a point was salvaged.

"Overall, it's a great point because you've come from 2-1 down to get a point, to snatch a point from a performance that wasn't that great throughout. So there are certainly a lot of things that can be learned from the match. But the positives are at least we managed to get ourselves back into the game after going 2-1 down," he said.
