While Ireland were unable to find their stride against the Belgians yesterday, Kevin Doyle was able to find his rhythm on the other side of the world.
The Colorado Rapids attacker scored an opportunist goal when a Chicago fire kickout strayed into the path of a Cololardo player, who in turn transferred the ball to Doyle on the run.

And the Wexford man, who failed to make the cut for Martin O'Neill's Euros squad, crashed it low into the net for his third goal from 11 appearances for the American side.
But as Doyle admitted later on Twitter, he struggled in the hot conditions.

Doyle had made a return to the International scene earlier in the year, but his comeback was felled by a leg injury which he sustained in a pre-Euros warm-up game against Switzerland. He had ambitions of resuming the fight for a place in Martin O'Neill's side, but it was not to be.
