The start of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's career at Manchester United has been nothing short of outstanding.
A winning goal on his debut in the Community Shield, was quickly followed by three goals in his first two league games against Bournemouth and Southampton. The 1-0 away win against Hull on Saturday evening was the first game in which he has failed to score.
Despite wanting to play in every game, it looks like manager Jose Mourinho is to give the 34-year-old some special treatment. There are no league games for the club until the Manchester Derby on September 10th, and Ibrahimovic is to be given an extended break during the international matches.
Ibrahimovic retired from international football after Euro 2012, where a Swedish player failed to score in a disappointing tournament for the team. The striker ended his international career with 62 goals in 116 games.
"The other guys who aren’t selected for their national teams, I give them two days off, but for Zlatan, I give holidays a la carte", Mourinho told The Independent after the win against Hull City.
"If you’re 34 years of age, you need to rest... You can’t play 70 matches."
Jose Mourinho's side are one of only three teams with 100% records after three Premier League games. Along with city rivals Manchester City, and Chelsea, all three teams are on nine points.
