Jose Mourinho could be in danger of facing further charges after he was sent to the stands during Manchester United's draw against Burnley yesterday.
It's reported that referee Mark Clattenburg ordered Mourinho to go to the stands following a half-time confrontation which is believed to have been provoked by the manager's annoyance that appeals for a United penalty were refused.
After the break, Mourinho was not allowed back into the dugout and eventually relocated to the directors’ box after being told he couldn’t sit in the front row.
A potential investigation could follow from the Football Association, depending on what Clattenburg includes in his referee's report.
Mourinho is already facing charges of misconduct on account of comments he made regarding referee Anthony Taylor ahead of their clash against Liverpool. The Portugeese coach has a history of outbursts, including a clash with former Chelsea Doctor Eva Carneiro at the beginning of the 2015 season.
Mourinho dispatched assistant coach Rui Faria for the post-game interviews yesterday in which he dismissed inquiries about Mourinho.
"I don't know why he was sent off and I don't think it was important. I think what is important is what the referee will write in his report. I can't give you more details."
"It is not important what Jose says, what is important is what the referee writes in his report." When asked about the circumstances of Mourinho's dismissal, Faria said: "I don't know what happened."
