John Duggan's Euros Football Tip of the Day | Torres to torment the Swiss

During the European Championship, John Duggan brings you a preview and tips for the top football games in association with Paddy Power...

I described Spain's performance against Russia at the World Cup as a driver that drove around the roundabout all day, as they completed 1000 passes but were eliminated on penalty kicks.

There was a touch of that in the Group stage as they played out a scoreless draw with Sweden before drawing 1-1 with Poland.

The dam then burst, with Luis Enrique's men scoring 10 goals in two games against Slovakia and Croatia.

Granted, Slovakia were one of the weaker teams in the football competition, while the win over Croatia came in extra time, but Spain are beginning to translate a possession average of 68% into goals.

Switzerland were a revelation against France, something not many would have expected after they were well beaten by Italy in Rome.

They showed true grit to battle back from 3-1 down and force extra time and penalties, which they won.

So Haris Seferovic and Breel Embolo will have their supporters in the football goal scoring markets.

One of the key players has been Manchester City's 21-year-old attacking talent Ferran Torres, who scored against Slovakia and found the net again in the Croatia match to make it 8 goals in 15 games for his country.

He remains an emerging talent at Premier League level, making 24 top flight appearances, although he didn't feature in the business end of the Champions League campaign.

That hat-trick he scored against Newcastle towards the end of the season sticks in my mind.

I am backing Ferran Torres to find the net again in the 90 minutes and perhaps book Spain semi-final date with Belgium or Italy.

Football recommendation: Ferran Torres to score at any time for Spain against Switzerland in the European Championship quarter-final in 90 minutes - 13/8

Good luck!
