Jack Byrne has been named PFAI Player of The Year after an impressive first season in League of Ireland during which he broke into Mick McCarthy's Ireland squad.
The former Manchester City prospect, who helped Shamrock Rover's to a first FAI Cup in 32 years last Sunday, beat out Dundalk duo Sean Gannon and Michael Duffy to the top award on the night.
Byrne was presented with the award by McCarthy who has included the 23-year-old in his squad to face New Zealand and Denmark this month.
The central midfielder played 32 league games in the heart of the Hoops midfield, scoring eight goals in the process and starring in his side's Europa League qualification efforts.
Dundalk's Vinny Perth won PFAI Manager of the Year after winning the League and League Cup, while Bohemian's Danny Mandriou won Young Player of The Year.
Midfielder Denise O'Sullivan was awarded Women’s Senior International Player of the Year, pipping Arsenal players Louise Quinn and Katie McCabe to the title.
