Ireland's Darren Randolph awarded new contract at West Ham United

West Ham United have confirmed that goalkeeper Darren Randolph has signed a new four-year contract for the club.

Randolph returned to training and pre-season duty after a break following the European championships where Randolph impressed as Ireland's number one on route to their last 16 finish.

His renewed commitment to the club comes as the Hammers look towards moving into their new 60,000 capacity stadium.

Randolph looks set to make his first appearance under the new contract this week as West Ham look towards a Europa League crunch tie against NK Domzale on Thursday and a Betway Cup fixture against Juventus the following Sunday.

Speaking after the deal was agreed, a delighted Darren Randolph said:

"I’ve had a good first year at West Ham and this is another positive thing to happen to me at the end of a good first season and a good summer with Ireland. It has gone better than I could have ever expected at West Ham since I joined last summer, playing as many games as I did and then starting for Ireland in the Play-off and at Euro 2016."

"While travelling is enjoyable, it is good to be back into the routine and training every day in familiar surroundings. Rush Green has a nice feel to it."
