WATCH: Ireland boss Martin O'Neill congratulates Dundalk on Champions League win

Stephen Kenny noted in his post match interview that his side had beaten BATE Borisov, a team full of international footballers and pointed out his team had never earned a cap for Ireland.

That might be about to change. Martin O'Neill was in the crowd last night to witness history in Irish football as Dundalk ran out 3-0 winners at Tallaght Stadium.

After the game and in the absence of manager Kenny, O'Neill took the opportunity to congratulate the team on a job well done and singled out skipper Stephen O'Donnell as one of the main reasons for their victory.

O'Neill previously called up Dundalk goalkeeper Gary Rogers for their pre-European Championships friendly with Holland, however he only made the bench.

He added: "I get to know you boys more than anybody because I get to see you more than anybody."

Do you think we'll be seeing more players from the League of Ireland or in particular a Dundalk player being called up to the squad into the future?
