Have you seen this kit? Appeal for information after jerseys stolen in Dublin

A team of football-playing doctors has had their kit stolen in Dublin - only days before the team is due to leave for the 'Medical World Cup'.

The green jerseys and other gear, worth around €2,300, were taken from the boot of a player's car on St Columba's Road in Drumcondra last night.

The doctors are due to leave for the championship in Barcelona on Friday July 8th.

The team is now appealing for anyone with information about the stolen kit to contact gardaí.

Tommy Fitzgerald, GP and team spokesperson, said the loss of the kits was a 'real nightmare'.

"We are now left in a situation where we are heading off to this great tournament to represent Ireland and may not have appropriate kit for the occasion," he explained.

However, he added that the team will "go out there and represent Ireland with passion and energy even if we have to play in the white coats!"

The company Affidea is sponsoring the team, and they appealed to the public to assist gardaí in their investigation.

However, the company's CEO Tom Finn said they "will do everything in its power to ensure that the team leaves Dublin airport with a complete kit in tow."
