Harry Kane back training ahead of Champions League final

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that striker Harry Kane has returned to training with the squad ahead of the biggest game in the club's history.

However, the Tottenham manager remains unsure as to whether the England international will be involved in Saturday's Champions League final match against Liverpool in Madrid.

It goes against the player's own proclamation at the club's official media day that he is "ready to go" after recovering from the ankle injury that he sustained in the Champions League clash with Manchester City on April 9.

"Yes, I feel good. I’m back with the team," Kane said. "I’ve been in full training, doing everything. I’m at a place now where I’m ready to go for any game."

Harry Kane's return could be bad news for Lucas Moura

Pochettino may have to drop Tottenham's hat-trick hero from the semi-final win against Ajax, Lucas Moura, in order to start Kane in the decider and he was a bit more cagey regarding Kane's current fitness status.

"Harry Kane, in the last week...Friday [and] Saturday, started to be involved with the group," said Pochettino at the club's pre-match press conference on Monday.

"It's very positive, [his] situation. We have one week ahead, until Saturday, to evaluate and to see how he is progressing in his [recovery] programme.

"But of course, like I [said] in the past, it is so important that he feels well and it's very positive. We'll see what happens.

"I cannot tell you if he is going to be fit 100 per cent, if he is going to be available to play from the beginning or be on the bench or maybe out but we are so, so positive and happy [with his] progression.

Pochettino also sounded quite positive when he revealed that defenders Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sánchez and midfielder Harry Winks had returned to training along with Kane last week.
