'Tottenham will get better and better under Antonio Conte' - John Giles

John Giles believes Tottenham are going to continue to become a better team under Antonio Conte.

John Giles joined The Football Show on Thursday to discuss Tottenham and Antonio Conte.

Jurgen Klopp apologized for his comments the following day.

But the comments were still cutting. His remarks after his Liverpool side dropped points at home against Tottenham hotspur were insulting to Antonio Conte. The Italian manager has pushed Spurs within touching distance of the top four. A Champions League place at the end of a very difficult season.

And if Conte's side were too negative against Liverpool, that isn't a criticism that can be levelled against them for the Arsenal game. A 3-0 victory at home that featured dynamic attacking play and three good goals.

Conte's side is adaptable. John Giles believes the manager is proving his worth and creating a real team out of a group of individuals.

"Brilliant," Giles said when asked about the job Conte was doing.

"He's doing his job. Don't forget, you have to look at Spurs now compared to where they were when he took over. They've got better and better and better. And he might get to the stage, if and when he gets more signings, and better players in, then he'll change it altogether. That's the best way he can get his team to play [against Liverpool]

"At the moment, at the stage they're at, I think he's done a great job with them. He'll continue to do a big job."

But it's not just that Conte has come in and fixed the problems. He is also the foundation for the club to build on moving forward. In the January transfer window, he brought in key additions and moved on from players who were hurting the team. Giles believes he will do the same again in the summer.

If he does so, Spurs can stop contending for Champions League places and aim higher.

"This club was a mess before he took over. He's got them now as a team. They're playing together at the moment. Obviously they've got Kane, they've got Son, goalscoring players. Which they're doing. But I think he'll get better players in. And I think Spurs will get better and better. That's his job to do.

"Conte has done a huge job."

"It's going to take years" - David Meyler on Manchester United's rebuild
