The death has been announced of the Gerry and the Pacemakers star Gerry Marsden.
He was 78.
While the band had a wide array of hits, sports fans will know Gerry and the Pacemakers for their rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone', the anthem of Liverpool Football Club.
It's also a song closely associated with Celtic.
Marsden enjoyed huge success with the band, including achieving the notable distinction of being the first-ever act to reach number one in the UK charts with their first three single releases.
Earlier this year, You'll Never Walk Alone gained notoriety in a different sense as Marsden went about recording a new version of the song.
People across Britain were encouraged to sing the song during weekly claps for carers and health service staff on Thursday nights.

Marsden said at the time: "This is about solidarity and shows what can happen when you call a few friends. I hope we'll all sing together on Thursdays."
A native of Liverpool, his local football club were among those paying tribute on Sunday.

"Liverpool Football Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Gerry Marsden," a statement on the club's website read.
"A Scouser and lifelong Liverpool fan, Marsden was the lead singer of 1960s Merseybeat band Gerry and the Pacemakers, whose rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone was adopted by the Kop in 1963.
"The group's third number one single - a cover of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic - became famous throughout the world as Liverpool FC's anthem and is played moments before kick-off of every home game at Anfield.
"Sung in times of both celebration and commiseration, Gerry's interpretation of You'll Never Walk Alone will forever be inextricably linked to the club he loved."
