'Gazza: The Movie' has been confirmed by Paul Gascoigne, as the life and times of one of England's most enigmatic footballers makes it to the big screen.
Gascoigne has already seen his life on the screen in the form of 'Gascoigne', a documentary film that covers his early life, football career and battle with alcoholism.
But one aspect not covered in that documentary are the instances of domestic abuse towards Gascoigne's ex-wife Sheryl. The upcoming movie appears to have carte blanche to address all of the issues in his turbulent life, as he told the Daily Mirror.
“Let’s face it, I have nothing to hide. It has all been in the press, the good and bad,” Gascoigne said.
"There are backers looking at a film and trying to find someone to play me. I will guide them and read the script, it will be about my entire life. They will use my books."

That search is as yet fruitless, with casting set to begin for an actor that can show both the lighter and darker shades of Gascoigne's personality.
Gascoigne insists that he is not doing the piece for financial gain.
“Money does not bother me, I don’t look back. Obviously, I have to keep myself well and stay happy. Then I can still earn money.
“I don’t have any regrets, none whatsoever. I am not going to change because I don’t know how to change.
"People say I am not perfect but I don’t want to be perfect. I am happy the way I am.”
