England U21 boss Gareth Southgate reckons Marcus Rashford has given Sam Allardyce something to think about after he scored a hat-trick on his U21 debut against Norway on Tuesday night.
The 18-year-old helped England to a 6-1 victory and Southgate says that performances like that will surely cause Big Sam to sit up and take notice.
"I wasn't surprised in any way," Southgate told the BBC.
"What we saw all week from him, we saw tonight. I couldn't have been happier with the way he approached everything.
"I'll speak to Sam in the next couple of days, I'm sure it's given him food for thought."
