Finn Harps striker Kevin McHugh could lose a finger after freak accident

"Think that's my season over". That was the reaction of Finn Harps striker Kevin McHugh on Wednesday evening, when he posted a picture on his Twitter account of a horrific finger injury, which may result in the digit being amputated.

McHugh revealed on social media that the freak accident happened, when his wedding ring got caught when jumping over a fence. As he added himself;  "u can picture the rest".

The 36-year-old had to drive himself to the hospital, before being transferred to Galway this morning to try and salvage the finger.

Finn Harps have five more games left this season, as the team currently lie in tenth place, and look on course to avoid automatic relegation.
