With large parts of Ireland's domestic league neglected, it must be pointed out that a lot of the current crop of players representing Ireland at the European Championships have their roots in the League of Ireland.
Seamus Coleman was a key part of the Sligo Rovers squad before he was snapped up by Everton and James McClean spent time at Derry City before moving across the water to Sunderland.
The FAI gathered those with roots in the league together for their Snapchat story this afternoon and tweeted out this picture.

It's important to remember the quality of players in the league can produce, even the older members of the squad like Wes Hoolahan spent large parts of his early days with Shelbourne, featuring in their Champions League ties with Deportivo de La Coruña.
