The Board of the FAI will not appear before the Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport this Wednesday.
In a letter seen by Off The Ball, the association's secretary Rea Walsh has told the committee that their financial future and the appointment of an independent Chairperson and three independent Directors is the FAI's top priority.
The letter went on to confirm that a representative of the association will 'regretfully' not be in a position to appear before the Joint Committee on Wednesday.
The FAI similarly failed to accept an invitation to appear in front of the committee last Wednesday too.
In the letter, Walsh continued that once the measures are complete the Board will welcome an opportunity to appear before the committee at a time that suits its members.
She also used the reply to thank the Committee for its patience and understanding at this "critical juncture for Irish football" and said that an "open and honest" meeting took place at Leinster House on Monday with Ministers Shane Ross and Brendan Griffin.
