There was a host of first round EA Sports Cup fixtures last night, with Longford Town, Cobh Ramblers, Waterford, Bray Wanderers, St Pat's and Bohemians all prevailing to ensure their names go forward to the draw for the next round.
Bray Wanderers needed just one goal to come through their first round fixture against Drogheda United, with Ryan Brennan putting them in front from early on, with a penalty on 13 minutes.
Brennan came close to doubling their lead with a second penalty, but he sent his spot-kick over the bar.

Longford Town and Athlone Town played out a seven-goal thriller, with the visitors coming back from 2-0 down to edge out the tie.
A David O’Sullivan hat-trick for Longford Town proved crucial in giving them the win.

Meanwhile, Bohemians stole a 1-0 victory against Cabinteely via a Steven Nolan goal, and Billy Dennehy’s first half effort was enough to give St Pat's the win against Bluebell United.
Waterford cruised to a 5-0 victory against Wexford, with David McDaid, Gary Delaney and Owen Wall all getting their names on the scoresheet, while goals from Matthew Whelan and Shane Lowth were both on target for Cobh Rambler's 2-0 victory over Avondale United.
