"Some of you don't want to be here? Leave!" - Lennon blasts CL flops

Neil Lennon lashed out at some of his Celtic players after they crashed out of the Champions League.

The Hoops fell to a 2-1 defeat at home to Ferencvaros, leaving them with the consolation prize of a Europa League qualifying slot.

Celtic's failure means 2020-21 will be the third season running that the club have failed to reach the group stage of the Champions League.

Their cause wasn't helped with Odsonne Edouard ruled out of the game due to a "thigh niggle".

Ferencvaros took the lead at Parkhead after just 7-minutes when David Siger fired past Vasilios Barkas from just outside the box.

A deflected Ryan Christie shot 8-minutes after the break brought Celtic level.

But with quarter of an hour remaining, the Hungarian champions poked their noses back in front courtesy of a lightning fast breakaway goal from Tokmac Nguen.

Speaking to Sportsound after the game, Lennon railed, "I think we need to freshen it up anyway, we need to freshen the squad up.

"What I've got, on the bench, we should have had more than enough to win tonight.

"It should have been done and dusted, with or without Odsonne."

He then aimed a volley at those at the club he feels want to be elsewhere.

"The players have to be better, get your attitude right, get your mentality right," he blasted.

"Some of you don't want to be here? Leave.

"I just want the players who want to be here."

When asked for specificity, Lennon replied, "in some cases".
