While many of us are gearing down for the Christmas holidays, the Premier League is getting ready for one of its busiest periods in the year.
With a packed list of fixtures from Stephen's Day through to the New Year's bank holiday, players will be spending a lot of time away from home and missing out on the boxes of chocolates and cups of tea in front of a roaring fire.
However, some players have - somehow - managed to get themselves suspended during this time of year due to accumulating too many yellow cards or (for the over enthusiastic out there) getting themselves a straight red.
The more cynical football fans out there may well suspect that some of these players are hoping for a few days off around the festive period, but that is clearly not the case, they have simply failed to keep a close enough eye on their disciplinary record at a crucial time of year.
Thankfully, we've got a definitive list below of the players who have been hit with a suspension, and those who are on the verge of getting their fifth booking.
