Manchester United toiled at times again against Newcastle. But with Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham all winning in the race for the Top Four, it was vital that Louis van Gaal's side beat the Toon.
Which is exactly what they did thanks to Ashley Young's late goal. But for Angel Di Maria, who is struggling to settle, the problems continue.
"My opinion of Di Maria ... it's not working out well for him," said United We Stand editor Andy Mitten on Off The Ball tonight after the 1-0 win.
"I'm watching him play for Manchester United and he's completely underwhelmed. I don't think you can suddenly become a bad player. It's still there. I think he needs time to settle in. He's coming over an injury to the hamstring. In terms of his private life, he was badly shook up when burglars attempted to break into his house. He moved into a hotel and then last week he moved into a house owned by another former Manchester United player. So you would hope that things settle down for him from that perspective."
Mitten also says that there is no player discontent towards Louis van Gaal comparable to the David Moyes era. But he also feels that players are still adapting to Van Gaal's methods.
