Moussa Dembélé: Three points more important than hat-trick

Celtic striker Moussa Dembélé insists getting three points was more important than his own personal achievements as the Scottish champions came from 2-1 down to beat St. Johnstone 5-2 on Sunday.

Speaking to the club's official website, Dembélé said: "I feel good about my performance, but mostly about the team performance and team effort. We showed we're strong together and won the game so we're happy.

"I don’t really feel pressure in front of goal. I’m a striker, I’m used to it and I’m confident because I have been doing this all my life.  My target is in my head and I won’t tell you about it but I will try to go beyond it.

"They gave us a good game. We don’t have easy games. It’s up to us to make sure we are at 100 per cent and give everything, and if we perform like we have done all season then there will be no problem.

"We have to keep performing as well as we can. We have to take things game-by-game and then we will see."

The Glasgow side are currently 27 points clear of second place Aberdeen although the Dons have a game in hand.

Speaking after the game on Dembélé's return from injury, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said: "He's been training for the last four or five days. He was never going to start. We're glad he's back. You can only play so long without a striker.

"You see the difference in the team the minute he comes in with that reference point and then everyone else can move around him."

Celtic switch their attention to the cup this weekend when they welcome Inverness Caledonian Thistle to Celtic Park on Saturday.
