Claudio Bravo joins Man City as Joe Hart exit looms

Joe Hart's future at Manchester City looks even more precarious after the club confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

The Chilean international joins from Barcelona on a four-year contract.

He is believed to have cost the Premier League side just over £17 million.

"Claudio is a fantastic goalkeeper and an excellent addition to our squad. He has experience and great leadership qualities and is in the prime of his life. He is a goalkeeper I have admired for a number of years and I’m really happy he is now a City player," manager Pep Guardiola told the club website.

Hart started Wednesday night's Champions League playoff second leg against Steaua Bucharest as Guardiola also handed him the captaincy for the evening.

However, Guardiola has preferred long-time understudy Willy Caballero as No 1 for the first two Premier League games of the season and has been open to Hart leaving the club.

Bravo was Barcelona goalkeeper as they won La Liga in 2015, although Marc-Andre Ter Stegen kept goal in Champions League games that season.

The Chilean has also won the Copa America in 2015 and 2016 with his country.
