Chris Smalling might have been hoping that he would still be at the Euros at this stage, but thanks to an embarrassing defeat to Iceland, the entire England squad were able to head off on their holidays a little bit earlier.
That might have been a welcome break for some, as they look to avoid the vitriol and anger of the fans and pundits back home, but it seems that bad luck has chosen to follow the Manchester United man around the globe.
While off enjoying a holiday in Bali, Smalling suffered a bit of an accident with ended up with him needing to be checked into a hospital.
Despite clearly being injured and requiring plenty of bandaging, staff at the hospital still asked him for autographs on their Manchester United jerseys.

While the original report stated that the player had been injured while surfing, Manchester United confirmed that he "had food poisoning during his holiday which resulted in him fainting on Sunday. He was taken to hospital and is now feeling fine."
Things can only get better from here, you'd hope.
