Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are among the frontrunners to claim the Champions League trophy, but for Kevin Kilbane Chelsea have as good a chance as anyone.
The ex-Ireland wide man was speaking to Oisin Langan on the Monday Rewind before the Blues take on Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
"Jose Mourinho can change tactics for different teams and he certainly did that last season against PSG over two legs. Overall we're seeing a very strong Chelsea side that have a real chance of going on and winning it this season," said Kilbane.
He expects PSG to come at Chelsea, allowing the London side to counter-attack at pace, as they like to do.
Kilbane also feels Diego Costa is Jose Mourinho's spiritual representative on the pitch.
He also looked ahead to Manchester City and Arsenal's challenges against Barcelona and Monaco respectively.
