Ched Evans is closing in on a return to Sheffield United.
A fee has reportedly been agreed with Chesterfield for the former Wales striker, with BBC Radio Sheffield putting it at £500,000 (approx €589,100).
Following a re-trial, Evans was found not guilty in October last year of raping a 19-year-old woman in 2011.
He was initially found guilty in April 2012, and was subsequently released by Sheffield United.
He served two and a half years of a five year prison sentence, before his conviction was quashed in 2016.
Evans previously played for Sheffield United between 2009 and 2012, making more than 100 appearances and scoring just fewer than 50 goals for the club.
Evans has made 25 appearances in League One for Chesterfield, scoring five goals.
Sheffield United achieved promotion from that division into the Championship earlier this month.
