Leicester City and Claudio Ranieri continued to make history this evening as they qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.
The Foxes will look back fondly on 2016, mainly due to their maiden Premier League winning season, but also for their wonderful accomplishments in Europe.
They were set on their way early in the first half, Shinji Okazaki with a goal after five minutes. They then had more of a cushion thanks to Riyad Mahrez's expertly taken spot-kick.
Jose Izquierdo pulled a goal back for the visitors but Ranieri's side did enough to make it through to the next round with a game to spare.
Tottenham, meanwhile, were eliminated from the Champions League after they suffered their third defeat of the group stages.
Mauricio Pochettino's side were put under pressure early on and would have been behind if not for Hugo Lloris' wonderful penalty save. But, they did finally concede through Djibril Sidibe in the second half.
They drew level thanks to Harry Kane's spot-kick after Dele Alli was fouled in the area. However, that lifeline only lasted about 38 seconds when Thomas Lemar put the Ligue 1 side back in the lead.
The London side could find no answer to the second goal and were beaten 2-1 in the end.
Borussia Dortmund and Legia Warsaw shared a record 12 goals this evening in their Group F clash, with the Germans shooting into a first half 5-2 lead. They originally fell behind through Aleksandar Prijovic but rallied and notched five first half goals.
The scoring didn't stop after the break with Marco Reus, who hadn't scored for over a year in the Champions League up to this point, grabbing his second of the night.
The game finished 8-4 after a flurry of late strikes - including Reus' hat-trick goal - and became the highest scoring game in Champions League history.

Juventus moved top of Group H this evening after a hard-fought 3-1 win away to against closest rivals Sevilla.
The Spanish side were reduced to 10 men after taking the lead and conceded a penalty before half time to give up their one-goal advantage. Leonardo Bonucci struck late on to give the Italians all three points and secure their passage to the last 16.
Real Madrid relied on a late Karim Benzema goal to leave them in a position to fight it out for top spot with Borussia Dortmund next month. They were 2-1 winners away to 10-man Sporting Lisbon.
Lyon struck late to earn them a 1-0 win over Dynamo Zagreb, while Porto and FC Copenhagen played out a scoreless draw.
Earlier this afternoon, Bayer Leverkusen and CSKA Moskow played out a 1-1 draw.
