Celtic's Kieran Tierney was forced off after less than half an hour of the Scottish Cup final this weekend, after he was struck by a stray elbow.
The game between Celtic and Aberdeen was frenetic encounter from the outset, with both sides scoring in the opening 15 minutes of the first half.
The physical exchanges were equally robust, with Tierney suffering a heavy blow to the face which left him bleeding from the mouth.
While tussling for possession with Aberdeen's Jayden Stockley, the Celtic left-back was caught in the face with a swinging arm.
There were reports that he may have lost teeth as a result of the incident. He received medical attention for around five minutes, but the referee took no disciplinary action gainst Stockley.
Tierney was subsequently withdrawn from the game in the 27th minute, with Tom Rogic coming on as his replacement.
The substitute proved to be the hero in the end, as he scored the winning goal in jury time and secure the Scottish Cup for the 37th time.
The result also means Celtic finish their season with an unbeaten domestic treble.
